The Prelude
I had to attend a work related dinner event in Hong Kong on Friday 31 May, so I figured I might as well have fun flying there in style. When searching for to book this flight my options were: Emirates Business Class (Paid), Thai Airways (Redemption) and Cathay Pacific (Redemption). I initially wanted to book the Emirates flight, however the arrival at 6pm was to close to my event at 6.30pm. Also, I would also get to try the Airbus A350-1000 with the Cathay option, so that is how I got to take this flight below!

Lounging Around
The Cathay Pacific Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Cathay Pacific has one of the best Business Class lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The lounge was quite crowded as there were many CX and BA flights leaving around noon. However, it got more empty right before our flight was about to board. I enjoyed my non-alcoholic Fruit Punch in the lounge.

The Seat
Cathay Pacific’s A350 came with a slightly updated version of their reverse herringbone Business Class seat. I found this seat to be incredibly private. I also liked the small henge they had in the footwell as it allows me to rest my foot there. The entertainment screen was large, clear, and responsive. Being able to watch the airshow on the handset was also a nice feature. Of course, any planes equipped with an on-board camera is always appreciated.

Landing
The Experience
I had a good 2 hours and a half flying Cathay Pacific from Bangkok to Hong Kong. The flight was on-time, the food was adequate and I enjoyed being able to fly a new type: Airbus A350-1000!
